29,729 Plaintext Passwords From the hurricane_cloud Dump Just Surfaced on Telegram
In July 2025, a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log file labelled hurricane_cloud 690count that exposed 29,729 records of stolen credentials harvested from 690 infected devices. The dataset contains plaintext passwords, email addresses, and URLs captured directly from compromised endpoints across the United States. HEROIC analysts confirmed the breach and added it to the database on April 18, 2026. Because the file was distributed freely on a public Telegram channel, any threat actor who downloaded it has had months of unrestricted access to those credentials and can still use them today.
Why This Is Dangerous
The hurricane_cloud dataset is particularly dangrous because every credential in it is paired with the exact URL of the service it belongs to. Attackers do not need to guess which sites a victim uses. They already know. A banking password is listed next to the bank's URL. An email credential can be used to trigger password resets on every other account the victim owns.
