In May 2026, HEROIC identified a stealer log file named PSN-Checker being shared on Telegram. While the file contains only 4 records, each one includes an email address, a plaintext password, and the corresponding URL—a complete toolkit for account takeover. If any of these credentials belong to you and you reuse passwords, the impact extends far beyond a single account.

Plaintext Passwords Offer No Defense

The passwords in the PSN-Checker dump are stored in plaintext—not hashed, not encrypted, not obscured in any way. They are fully readable text strings that any attacker can use immediately. There is no technical step between downloading this file and attempting to log in with every credential it contains.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses — account identifiers that may also serve as recovery contacts
  • Plaintext Passwords — your exact passwords, completely unprotected
  • URLs — the services and platforms where these credentials were entered

Small Leaks, Big Consequences Through Password Reuse

Four records may seem insignificant, but credential stuffing does not care about volume—it cares about accuracy. Each of these 4 credential pairs will be tested against hundreds of services automatically. If even one person reused their PSN-Checker password on their email, banking, or social media accounts, an attacker gains a foothold that spreads rapidly across their digital presence.

Stealer Logs and How They Capture Credentials

PSN-Checker is a stealer log—a file generated by infostealer malware that runs silently on compromised devices. The malware extracts saved credentials from browsers, password managers, and application caches, then packages everything into a log file. These logs circulate on Telegram and dark web forums, where they are picked up by attackers looking for validated, ready-to-use login combinations.

Check If Your Credentials Were Exposed

Even small breaches can have outsized consequences. HEROIC's breach scanner indexes over 400 billion compromised records, making it one of the most comprehensive tools available for checking your exposure. Search your email address or domain to find out whether your credentials appeared in the PSN-Checker dump or any other known breach, and take immediate steps to change affected passwords and enable two-factor authentication.
