Inside Good Emails Mix Stealer Logs: 3,708 Passwords Harvested
In December 2024, HEROIC discovered a stealer log file named "Good Emails.txt_Mix" being shared on Telegram. This mixed credential dump contains 3,708 records extracted from infected devices by infostealer malware. Each record includes a plaintext password, the associated email address, and the URL of the service where it was stolen — giving attackers a complete toolkit for account compromise.
What Makes Plaintext Passwords So Exploitable
The passwords in Good Emails.txt_Mix are stored in their original, unencrypted form. There is no cryptographic barrier between the attacker and the credential. Unlike password hashes that require brute-force cracking, these plaintext strings can be used directly in login attempts. For all 3,708 affected accounts, the time from file download to unauthorized access is measured in seconds, not hours.

The Technical Anatomy of a Stealer Log
Stealer logs are produced by infostealer malware families such as RedLine, Vidar, Stealc, and Raccoon. When a victim unknowingly installs the malware — often bundled with cracked software, fake updates, or phishing attachments — it immediately begins extracting data from the browser's credential store. The malware reads SQLite databases and decrypts locally stored passwords using the operating system's DPAPI keys. It then formats the stolen credentials into structured log files, uploads them to a command-and-control server, and threat actors later distribute curated selections like Good Emails.txt_Mix on Telegram.
