Records Exposed 1
Source Type Stealer log
Origin United States
Password Type plaintext

In March 2026, HEROIC's threat monitoring systems flagged a stealer log file labeled Good_PrestaShop on Telegram. The file contains a single record: one email address paired with a plaintext password and the URL of the service where the credential was captured. While a single record may appear trivial, it represents a fully compromised account with all the data an attacker needs for immediate access.

Why Even One Plaintext Password Is Dangerous

A plaintext password requires no processing to exploit. It is not hashed, salted, or encrypted in any way—it is the exact string the user typed when creating or entering their password. For this one exposed credential, the path from discovery to unauthorized access is instantaneous. The attacker simply uses what is written in the file.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Address — the account identifier and a potential vector for phishing attacks
  • Plaintext Password — the complete, unprotected login credential
  • URL — the PrestaShop-based service where this credential was used

One Credential, Many Potential Victims Through Reuse

Credential stuffing tools do not discriminate by volume. This single email-password pair from Good_PrestaShop will be tested against dozens of services—email providers, banks, cloud platforms, social media. If the affected user reuses this password anywhere, one leaked credential becomes the key to multiple account compromises, potentially affecting financial data, personal communications, and professional systems.

Technical Anatomy of a Stealer Log

Good_PrestaShop is a stealer log produced by infostealer malware. These trojans are typically distributed through malicious downloads, phishing links, or software cracks. Upon execution, the malware scans the victim's browser for stored credentials, extracts autofill data, and records login information from various applications. The harvested data is structured into log files organized by the target platform—in this case, PrestaShop e-commerce sites—and shared on Telegram for other threat actors to use.
