KATANA_CLOUD FREE Stealer Log Exposes 6,651 Logins

HEROIC analysts found a stealer log file labeled "KATANA_CLOUD FREE" that a Telegram user uploaded on September 16, 2024. The file held 6,651 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the site it unlocks. That is enough compromised logins to put an entire small business or team at risk if even a handful of employees reused a password.

Why This Is Dangerous

These passwords were exposed as plaintext, meaning there is no hashing or encryption standing between an attacker and the account. Anyone who obtains this file can take an email, password, and URL together and log in immediately, with no cracking or guesswork needed.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the associated login pages

Why This Matters

A list of 6,651 records is more than enough to fuel credential stuffing attacks, where automated tools test each stolen email and password pair across other popular sites. Any reused password puts that other account at risk of takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud, and a business whose employee credentials appear here can face the same exposure across work accounts.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log comes from infostealer malware that infects a device through a malicious download, cracked software, or a phishing link. Once installed, it quietly harvests saved browser passwords, autofill data, and session details, then bundles everything into a log file. These files are frequently shared or sold on Telegram channels soon after collection, which is exactly how this dataset surfaced.
