HEROIC analysts uncovered a stealer log collection targeting South Korean endpoints, uploaded to Telegram in April 2023 by a threat actor operating under the KR-KOREA-100PCS HEAVENLOGSCLOUD identity. The dataset contains 1,346 compromised records, each capturing credentials and browsing context harvested directly from infected Korean devices. The exposed information includes email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs representing the sites and services the victims were actively using.

Why This Is Dangerous

South Korea has one of the world's most connected digital economies, with high adoption of mobile banking, gaming platforms, and government digital services. Stealer logs from Korean endpoints give attackers a direct path into these high-value systems. Plaintext passwords require no cracking, and paired URLs tell attackers exactly which platforms to target, from financial portals to workplace collaboration tools used across Korean industry.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (active sites and services on compromised Korean devices)

Why This Matters

Credential stuffing attacks powered by stealer log data are automated and fast. Within hours of a log collection appearing on Telegram, bot networks begin testing the credentials across banking sites, email providers, e-commerce platforms, and social media services. Successful logins lead to account takeover, unauthorized transfers, and identity theft. For victims in South Korea, this risk extends to government services and national identity systems tied to their accounts.

How Stealer Logs Work

Information-stealing malware infiltrates devices through phishing messages, pirated software, and malicious browser extensions. Once active on a Korean endpoint, the stealer silently extracts saved passwords from browsers, grabs session cookies that bypass two-factor authentication, and records the URLs of recently visited sites. All harvested data is compressed into a log package and transmitted to the attacker's server. These packages are then bundled and shared on Telegram channels where thousands of cybercriminals can download and exploit them freely.
