In June 2025, a threat actor operating through Telegram uploaded a stealer log file now known as the Logs_28 June breach. The log contained 966 records harvested by malware silently running on infected devices, capturing credentials the moment they were entered. Victims likely never knew their data was being collected until it was already circulating in underground channels.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are among the most actionable types of leaked data because they contain credentials captured directly from real browsing sessions. Unlike database dumps that may contain old or hashed passwords, stealer logs expose plaintext passwords tied to active accounts. Cybercriminals can use this data immediately to attempt account takeovers, and because many people reuse passwords across sites, a single exposed credential can compromise dozens of seperate accounts at once.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (indicating which sites the credentials belong to)

Why This Matters

Even a breach of 966 records is significant when the data is this sensitive. Plaintext passwords combined with email addresses and the exact URLs they belong to gives attackers a ready-made login kit. Many victims will not recieve any notification that their credentials were stolen, because stealer logs are collected outside of company systems and the affected organizations may never even know a breach occured. That makes self-checking tools critically important.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs are generated by infostealer malware -- malicious software installed on a victim's device through phishing emails, malicious downloads, or compromised websites. Once installed, the malware monitors browser activity and keystrokes, capturing usernames, passwords, and the URLs being visited. This data is then packaged into log files and sold or shared through platforms like Telegram, where threat actors distribute them to other criminals. The 28-Jun-2025 upload represents one such package, targeting endpoints, email credentials, and API hosts.
