Search Your Email: The LOGS_CENTER Dump Exposed 8,660 Accounts
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to Telegram on June 24, 2023, exposing 8,660 records from infected devices around the world. The file was distributed through a channel called LOGS_CENTER and contained email adresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the services those credentials were used on. Stealer logs from 2023 are still relevant today because many people never changed their passwords after their devices were compromised, leaving those accounts open to attack even years later.
Why This Is Dangerous
Unlike a database breach where passwords are at least hashed, a stealer log captures credentials exactly as the user typed them or as they were saved in the browser. There is nothing to decrypt or crack. An attacker holding this file can log into thousands of accounts immediately. The URLs included in the LOGS_CENTER dump make it even more dangrous because they identify which specific platforms and services each credential belongs to, turning guesswork into a direct hit list.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (service and platform endpoints)
Why This Matters
Credentials from 2023 that were never rotated are still working credentials today. Cybercriminals know this and actively use older stealer logs for credential stuffing campaigns, testing stolen login pairs against current versions of banking apps, email providers, and subscription services. When they find a match, account takeover happens fast. Victims can lose access to email, have money stolen, have their identity used to open credit lines, or find that someone has been silently monitoring their accounts for months without them knowing.
How Stealer Log Breaches Work
Infostealer malware spreads through fake software downloads, phishing attachments, and malicious links. Once it runs on a device it begins silently collecting every password saved in the browser, every login typed on the keyborad, and every session cookie stored locally. This data gets packaged and sent to the attacker automatically. The resulting log files are then organized by date or source and uploaded to Telegram channels or sold on dark web markets. The victim's device keeps working normally throughout, so most people never realize anything happened.
