Records Exposed 14,445
Source Type Stealer log
Origin Telegram
Password Type plaintext

HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to Telegram in January 2024, cataloged as "Logs_Tizix". The dataset holds 14,445 records collected from compromised devices, with each record containing an email address, a plaintext password, and a URL pointing to the site or service the victim was logged into at the time of infection. Because the passwords were captured directly from browser storage by malware, they were never hashed or obfuscated, meaning they are ready to use the moment someone opens the file.

Why This Is Dangerous

Each record in this file is essentially a pre-loaded key to an account. An attacker does not need any additional tools or skills to use this data. They simply take the email address and password, go to the URL listed alongside it, and attempt to log in. Because the URLs are included, attackers already know which services to target. If even a fraction of those 14,445 users reused that password elsewhere, the blast radius extends far beyond the original infection, reaching banking apps, cloud storage, and any other service tied to that same email.

What Was Exposed

The Logs_Tizix stealer log contained the following data for each of the 14,445 affected records:

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (sites and services the victims were actively using)

Why This Matters

One set of stolen credentials can set off a chain reaction across multiple accounts. An attacker who gains access to someone's email can request password resets on every other service that email is connected to, effectivly taking over an entire digital identity. From there, financial fraud, unauthorized purchases, and identity theft become straightforward. Telegram distribution amplifies the damage because the file does not stay with one attacker. It spreads to anyone following the channel, multiplying the number of people who might attempt to exploit the exposed data.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware is designed to be invisible. It typically enters a device through a malicious download, such as a pirated application, a fake software patch, or a file attached to a phishing email. Once installed, the malware methodically searches browsers for saved passwords and login sessions, then sends that data back to the attacker in an organized log file. The process usually takes seconds and leaves no obvious trace on the victim's device. The log is then either sold, used directly, or shared publicly on platforms like Telegram where anyone can acccess it.

Check If You Are Affected
