The LuffichCloud Dump: 2,995 Stolen Credentials Hit the Dark Web
In May 2023, a stealer log containing 2,995 records from LuffichCloud was uploaded to a Telegram channel frequented by cybercriminals. The file dropped email addresses, plaintext passwords, and cloud service URLs directly into the hands of threat actors who had been waiting for exactly this kind of access. No encryption to crack. No waiting. The credentials were immediatelly ready to test against live systems.
Why This Is Dangerous
Cloud service accounts are not isolated. They connect to file repositories, linked applications, API keys, payment methods, and recovery codes for other services. An attacker who uses one of these stolen plaintext credentials to access a LuffichCloud account does not stop at looking at files. They harvest everything they can, then use the account as a pivot point for broader attacks against the victim's other services. The URLs in this dataset told attackers exactly which cloud platforms each victim was using, enabling targeted access attempts against the most valuable accounts first.

Why This Matters
A stolen cloud credential is a master key. If a victim reused their LuffichCloud password on another platform -- email, banking, social media -- credential stuffing bots will find it. These tools test stolen credentials across hundreds of platforms automatically, flagging successful logins for human review. The 2,995 records in this dataset were accessable to every member of the Telegram channel where the log was shared, which in active breach distribution communities can number in the thousands. The breach occured in 2023 but the risk persists for anyone who has not changed their password since.
How Stealer Logs Work
Infostealer malware installs itself through phishing emails, fake software downloads, and malicious browser extensions. Running invisibly on the victim's device, it captures every saved browser password, every URL visited while logged in, and every credential typed into a form. The harvested data is packaged into a structured log file, sent to attacker infrastructure, and then distributed on Telegram where cybercriminals download and deploy it. LuffichCloud was one file in a broader operation -- the May 2023 Telegram upload was the point of distribution, but the original device infections likely occured weeks or months earlier.
