HEROIC analysts identified the LulzsecCloudLogs data breach in August 2023, when a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log file containing 5,925 records. The compromised data included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs collected from devices infected with infostealer malware. The file was distributed publicly through a Telegram channel, placing thousands of credential sets directly in the hands of cybercriminals.

Why the LulzsecCloudLogs Stealer Log Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords combined with email addresses and URLs form the most complete type of credential leak possible. Attackers do not need to do any additional work to exploit this data. They can attempt direct logins on the exact sites listed in the URL data, or run automated tools that test these credentials across banking, email, and retail platforms within hours of obtaining the file.

What Was Exposed in LulzsecCloudLogs

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs (recorded from active browser sessions during infection)

Why This Matters

Credential stuffing is one of the most common attack methods following a stealer log leak. Attackers load the leaked email and password pairs into automated tools and test them across dozens of popular websites simultaneously. For anyone who reuses passwords across accounts, a single leaked set of credentials can open the door to email compromise, bank fraud, and identity theft. The URL data in this leak makes it even easier for attackers to know exactly where to strike.

How Stealer Logs Like LulzsecCloudLogs Work

Infostealer malware infiltrates devices through phishing links, software cracks, or drive-by downloads. Once running, it silently captures passwords from browsers, session tokens, and any credentials typed by the user. These harvested records are compiled into log files and exfiltrated to the attacker's server. Files like LulzsecCloudLogs are then circulated on Telegram, often at no cost, as part of the underground economy for stolen data.
