Without any public announcement or news coverage, a file called LunarLogsFree appeared on a Telegram channel in June 2025, carrying 108,399 records stripped directly from infected devices. The data was recieved by security researchers tracking underground credential markets, who confirmed it contained plaintext passwords, email addresses, and URLs belonging to real users. There were no headlines. There were no warnings. The data was just suddenly circualting among cybercriminals who knew exactly what to do with it.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are silent by design. The malicoius software that created this file ran invisibly on victims' computers, capturing login credentials as they were typed into browsers and apps. By the time the LunarLogsFree file appeared on Telegram, attackers already had everything they needed to access email accounts, cloud storage, financial platforms, and any other service where the stolen passwords were reused. There is no firewall or antivirus warning that tells you this happened.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (sites accessed from the infected device)

Why This Matters

108,399 records is not an abstract number. Each record represents a person whose device was infected, whose passwords were stolen, and whose accounts are now at risk. Stealer logs sell for as little as a few dollars per batch on dark web forums, making them accessible to even low-skill attackers. Once credentials from a log like this are purchased, they are tested against popular services in automated attacks that can compromise dozens of accounts in minutes. If you reuse passwords across sites, a single infected device can unlock your entire digital life.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Information-stealing malware is typically spread through phishing emails, fake software downloads, malicious browser extensions, and cracked games or applications. Once installed on a device, the malware runs silently in the background, logging every username and password entered in a browser or desktop application. It also captures the URLs of sites visited, giving attackers a map of which services a victim uses. The collected data is bundled into a log file and uploaded to Telegram channels or dark web forums, where it is sold or shared freely. The Lunar Cloud Logs upload follows this exact pattern.
