HEROIC discovered 5,229 records exposed in the MIRAGE CLOUD stealer log breach on September 30, 2024. A Telegram user uploaded the log file to a public channel, directly exposing plaintext credentials and endpoint data.

Why This Stealer Log Is Dangerous

Unlike hashed dumps that require cracking, MIRAGE CLOUD contains fully usable plaintext passwords ready for immediate account takeover. Distribution through a public Telegram channel gave thousands of bad actors instant access. The threat bypasses most password protection entirely.

What Was Exposed in MIRAGE CLOUD

  • Login credentials (usernames, passwords)
  • Browser cookies and session tokens
  • Autofill form data
  • Crypto wallet data (where present)
  • System fingerprints

All 5,229 records include email addresses, plaintext passwords, and target URL or API host associations.

Why This Matters

Plaintext credentials from infostealer malware can be weaponized within minutes of release. Attackers use these logs for credential stuffing across banking, email, and corporate SaaS platforms. Even small drops like MIRAGE CLOUD chain into larger campaigns when cross-referenced with other leaks.

How a Stealer Log Like MIRAGE CLOUD Works

Infostealer trojans such as RedLine, Vidar, and Raccoon infect endpoints through malvertising, cracked software, or phishing links. Once active, they harvest saved browser credentials, cookies, and wallet files, then package everything into a log archive. Operators sell or drop these logs on Telegram and dark web forums within hours.
