Monster Cloud Free 41: Mid-Range Tier in October 7's Massive Stealer Log Cluster

When researchers first began cataloging Monster Cloud's October 7, 2023 releases, only a handful of batches were immediatly visible. As the full picture emerged, the scope became extraordinary: at least 10 confirmed Monster Cloud batches released on a single day, totaling 138,404 US credentials. Free 41 contributes 13,280 to that total -- a mid-range batch sitting in the cluster's second tier, well below the large-tier releases like Free 37 (21,888) and Free 42 (21,684), but consistent with the 12,000-14,000 band that characterizes several other October 7 Monster Cloud releases. Understanding Free 41's position requires understanding the full cluster structure.

The Mid-Range Tier: What 13,280 Records Tells Us About October 7's Structure

Monster Cloud's October 7 releases group into two distinct tiers. The large tier includes Free 37 (21,888 records), Free 42 (21,684), and Free 70 (20,917) -- all clustering around 21,000 records. The mid-range tier includes Free 41 (13,280), Free 51 (12,413), Free 54 (12,018), Free 58 (12,258), and Free 67 (14,070) -- clustering between 12,000 and 14,000. Free 44 sits below both at 9,876 as a smaller outlier. This bimodal pattern isn't random. It likely reflects distinct infection campaigns or endpoint categories contributing to Monster Cloud's pipeline on that date -- large-tier batches from high-density source pools, mid-range batches from smaller or less credential-rich endpoint cohorts.

Batch Numbering and the Non-Chronological Series

Free 41 carries a batch number that would superficially suggest it preceded Free 42, 51, 54, 58, 67, and 70. But Monster Cloud's numbering appears to reflect something other than simple release order. Batches with higher numbers (37, 41, 42, 44, 51, 54, 58, 67, 70) appear on October 7, while the lower-numbered Free 1-10 series falls on October 8 and 9. Two explanations exist: retroactive sequential numbering that assigns higher numbers to data sourced from earlier campaigns, or a multi-track numbering structure where different number ranges correspond to different data sources or geographic pools. Either interpretation suggests Monster Cloud's infrastructure was more complex than a simple sequential release pipeline.

138,404 Confirmed: October 7 as Monster Cloud's Peak Day

With Free 41's 13,280 records included, the ten confirmed Monster Cloud batches on October 7 total 138,404 records. This makes October 7 unambiguously Monster Cloud's highest confirmed single-day output -- eclipsing October 8's 94,014 records from nine confirmed batches (Free 1-9). Combined across confirmed October 7, 8, and 9 releases, Monster Cloud's total reaches 244,166 records. The full series likely extends to at least batch Free 70 and possibly beyond, suggesting an actual total somewhere between 350,000 and 1,000,000 US credentials across the complete Monster Cloud catalog -- a figure that underscores the extraordinary scale of this operation.

Plaintext Credentials and the Credential Stuffing Threat

Like all Monster Cloud batches, Free 41's 13,280 credentials are plaintext -- no hashing, no cracking required. Each record contains a username, password, and associated URL captured directly from an infected endpoint's browser or credential store. For credential stuffing attackers, this is ready-to-deploy material. Automated tools can cycle through thousands of login attempts per hour using credentials like these, targeting banking, e-commerce, email, and social platforms. The high volume -- 13,280 credentials in a single batch -- provides enough material to sustain extended attack campaigns, particularly when combined with the other 125,000+ credentials from Monster Cloud's other October 7 releases.
