In December 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a small stealer log named "NETZERO VALID HIT BLAZINCOMBOS" uploaded to Telegram by an anonymous user. Though the file was small, containing 38 records, each one was confirmed to work against NetZero, a US-based internet service provider, and included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the login pages tied to each account.

Why This NetZero Access Leak Is Dangerous

Small doesn't mean harmless. The "valid hit" label means these 38 logins were already tested and confirmed to work, so whoever has this file doesn't need to guess or crack anything, they can log straight in. For each of the 38 people affected, that means an attacker already has everything needed to access their NetZero email account right now.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the associated login sites

Why This Matters

Email accounts are frequently used to reset passwords for banking, shopping, and other online services, so a compromised NetZero inbox can open the door to further account takeover. Anyone among the 38 affected who reused this same password on other websites is also at risk of credential stuffing, where attackers try the same email and password combination across many different platforms.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs are collected by malware that infects a device and quietly copies whatever login details are saved in the browser, including passwords, autofill entries, and the websites they belong to. That stolen data is then packaged into a file, verified for accuracy, and often relabeled as "valid" or a "hit" before being sold or shared, as with this small NetZero batch on Telegram.
