Deep Into the June Phase: The 6,055-Record Upload Before the Campaign's Quietest Day

By June 27, 2024, the DaisyCloud Telegram channel had been posting U.S. endpoint credentials for over a week. The June 27 upload -- 6,055 records, file identifier "0530_ON_CHANNEL" -- came one day before the campaign's absolute smallest release (2,548 on June 28) and three days before the June 30 bridge upload that connected the June phase to July. June 27 is one of the later entries in the campaign's June cluster, positioned in the long tail of the initial run before volumes would eventually explode in early July. For victims, the timing within the campaign arc is irrelevant -- their credentials were just as exposed on day ten as on day one.

DaisyCloud (June 27, 2024): Breach Summary

  • Records Exposed: 6,055
  • Data Types: Plaintext credentials (usernames, passwords, endpoint URLs)
  • Breach Type: Stealer log
  • Country Affected: United States
  • Date Leaked: June 27, 2024

The "0530_ON_CHANNEL" File ID and What It Reveals

The file identifier "27_JUNE_0530_ON_CHANNEL" encodes the log file's sequential position within the channel -- log number 530. Combined with other file IDs in the campaign, the numbering reveals that the DaisyCloud Telegram channel had distributed at least 530 distinct files by late June 2024. This depth of channel history suggests DaisyCloud was not a new operation in June -- the June and July 2024 uploads captured in the HEROIC database likely represent one phase of a longer-running channel that had been accumulating content for months before these batches were indexed. The full scope of the DaisyCloud operation may extend considerably beyond what is currently documented.

Why Stealer Logs From Late-Phase Uploads Are Still Dangerous

There's a misconception that later uploads in a campaign's distribution run carry less risk because the "prime" early batches have already been discovered and acted upon. In practice, the opposite is often true. Early batches from a campaign may be flagged by security researchers and added to threat intelligence feeds relatively quickly, prompting monitoring and response. Later batches, especially smaller ones from the tail of a phase, may receive less scrutiny and circulate quietly among underground subscribers without triggering detection. The 6,055 credentials in this June 27 upload may have had longer uncontested circulation time than some of the larger earlier releases.

June 27 in the Full Campaign Context

The June 27 upload is one of at least eleven documented June uploads spanning June 18-30, 2024. Combined with 13+ July uploads and the campaign's extraordinary 132,246-record July 21 release, the full DaisyCloud operation represents a sustained multi-month stealer log campaign targeting U.S. endpoints. Security teams assessing exposure from DaisyCloud need to account for the entire June-July timeline -- not just the largest single releases, but every documented batch including late-phase uploads like this June 27 entry. HEROIC's breach database indexes each upload individually, enabling granular timeline analysis for incident response and threat intelligence applications.
