In July 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file named "TOKYO CLOUD FREE81" uploaded to a Telegram channel by an anonymous user. That single upload contained 5,252 records made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the sites those credentials unlock.

Why the TOKYO CLOUD FREE81 Leak Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are pulled directly off an infected computer rather than stolen from a company's server. Malware on the victim's machine reads every password saved in the browser and matches it to the exact site it belongs to, so whoever has this file can log in immediately without cracking or guessing anything.

What Was Exposed in the TOKYO CLOUD FREE81 File

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • The URLs of the websites those logins belong to

Why This Matters

Because the passwords are plaintext and matched to working login pages, this data is immediately usable for account takeover. Anyone in this file risks having their email, shopping, or social accounts accessed by someone else, especially if the same password is used anywhere else.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer malware usually hides inside cracked software, fake updates, or malicious downloads. Once it runs, it quietly harvests saved passwords and autofill data from the browser and sends everything back to the attacker in a single file. Files like "TOKYO CLOUD FREE81" are then shared or sold on Telegram, which is how this one came to light.
