In April 2023, an anonymous user operating the ORBLOGSCLOUD Telegram channel quietly shared a stealer log file containing 7,686 records. There was no press release, no breach notification, and no media coverage. The file simply appeared, was downloaded by whoever happened to be watching the channel, and began circulating. Inside: email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the exact URLs where those credentials were actively in use at the moment of theft.


Why This Is Dangerous

What makes this particulary concerning is the data combination. When attackers have an email address paired with a plaintext password, there is nothing left to crack. The credentials are ready to test against live services the same day they were shared. No decryption step. No dictionary attack. The attacker opens the file, loads it into an automated tool, and begins testing immediately.

The URLs in the dataset make it worse. They reveal exactly which services the victims were logged into when the malware ran -- banking portals, email accounts, internal business systems. That is not a list of targets to guess at. That is a map.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs are the direct output of infostealer malware. These programs are typically delivered through phishing emails, fake software downloads, or compromised browser extensions. Once installed, the malware runs silently and harvests credentials from browsers, saved passwords, and active login sessions.

The collected data is packaged into log files and sent back to the attacker's infrastructure. Those logs are then sold on dark web markets or, as in this case, distributed freely through Telegram channels to build an audience and establish credibility. The critical distinction from a traditional database breach is that no server was compromised. The malware went directly to the source -- the victim's own device -- and captured the password before it ever had a chance to be encrypted. The victim types their password, the malware captures it in plaintext, and the attacker recieves a clean, seperate credential record tied to a specific URL.

Victims are given no warning during infection. The first indication of compromise is typically an unexpected login alert or unauthorized account activity appearing days or weeks later.
