One Telegram Post. 420 Log Files. The OTTOMANCLOUD Dump Had 7,984 Records.
In May 2023, a Telegram user posted a package of 420 stealer log files labeled MAY2023 420PCS FREE OTTOMANCLOUD, collectively exposing 7,984 records of email adresses, plaintext passwords, and endpoint URLs. The batch distribution model, where hundreds of individual log files are bundled and shared for free, is a signature tactic used by infostealer operators to build crediblity and attract followers before selling premium collections. Each of the 420 files in this dump represented at least one compromised device.
Why This Is Dangerous
The OTTOMANCLOUD dump contained plaintext passwords extracted directly from infected devices, eliminating any barrier between the attacker and account access. Because stealer logs capture credentials at the moment a device is infected rather than after a server is breached, the data is often more current and more accurate than passwords taken from outdated database dumps. A plaintext password paired with a URL and email address is an immediately usable attack vector with no additional processing required.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (including API endpoints and internal host addresses)
Why This Matters
Bundled stealer log releases like the OTTOMANCLOUD 420-piece pack spread across multiple Telegram channels and dark web forums within hours of upload. The free distribution ensures that even low-sophistication attackers gain access to workable credentials. With 7,984 records spanning email accounts, API endpoints, and web logins, the potential for credential stuffing, account takeover, and further network intrusion is significant. Victims are typicaly unaware until an account has already been accessed.
How Stealer Log Breaches Work
Infostealer malware infects devices through phishing emails, fake software downloads, or trojanized browser extensions. Once active, the malware silently captures saved passwords, active cookies, and stored credentials from browsers and applications, then sends them to a remote collection server. The operator sorts the harvested data into log files organized by country, credential type, or target service. These files are then bundled into packs like the OTTOMANCLOUD 420PCS release and uploaded to Telegram as free samples, often alongside offers for larger paid collections.
