OttomanCloud Stealer Log Exposed 4,104 Cloud Passwords in June 2023
On June 4, 2023, a Telegram user distributed a stealer log collection labeled "JUN2023 222PCS FREE OTTOMANCLOUD" containing 4,104 compromised records. The name encodes key details about the operation: collected in June 2023, part of a 222-piece batch, released for free, and tied to an operator calling themselves OTTOMANCLOUD -- a branding choice that signals cloud infrastructure targeting. HEROIC's DarkHive monitoring system detected this file and cataloged 4,104 exposed records including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the cloud and web services where the credentials were stolen.
Why This Is Dangerous
Stealer logs labeled "FREE" are among the most dangerous types of credential leaks because they are released to an unlimited audience simultaneosly. Unlike private sales where one buyer uses the data, a free Telegram drop means dozens or hundreds of threat actors download and weaponize the credentials within the same hour. Cloud service accounts -- including email, storage, SaaS platforms, and developer tools -- are among the most valuable targets because access to one cloud account often unlocks many others through single sign-on and shared credentials. The 4,104 victims in this file had their cloud and web service passwords actively exploited starting June 4, 2023.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses: 4,104 real email addresses linked to compromised devices and cloud accounts
- Plaintext Passwords: Unencrypted passwords immediately usable for login attempts with no cracking required
- URLs: The specific cloud services, web platforms, and applications where the infostealer captured each credential pair
Why This Matters
Cloud account takeovers are among the most damaging outcomes of infostealer infections. A stolen password to a cloud storage account can expose years of private files, photos, and documents. A stolen SaaS login can give attackers access to business data, customer records, and financial information. With 222 log files released in this single OttomanCloud drop, the total scope of the campaign extends far beyond the 4,104 records in this individual batch. Victems in any of those files faced the same risk of having their cloud accounts systematically tested within minutes of the drop going live.
How Stealer Log Attacks Work
OTTOMANCLOUD-branded logs originate from infostealer malware installed on victim devices through phishing emails, cracked software, fake browser updates, and malicious downloads. Once installed, the malware harvests saved browser passwords, cookies, and session tokens -- all the data needed to access cloud accounts without needing to crack anything. The stolen records are packaged into numbered batches and released on Telegram, where automated credential stuffing tools can test all 4,104 email-password combinations against popular cloud platforms in a matter of minuets. The cycle from infection to cloud account takeover can complete in under 24 hours.
