Pandacracker's Hotmail Combolist: 4,920 Accounts Leaked

In September 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a combolist labeled HQ Hotmail combo test pandacracker, uploaded to Telegram. The file contained 4,920 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords, along with the URLs each login was tied to. The "HQ" and "test" labeling suggests this list was presented as a high-quality, verified batch of working Hotmail logins rather than an unfiltered dump.

Why a "Verified" Combolist Is Especially Dangerous

Lists marketed as high quality or already tested are more dangerous because buyers expect the credentials to actually work. Combined with plaintext passwords, this means an attacker does not need to guess which of the 4,920 records are valid before attempting to log in. Every credential can be tried immediately against Hotmail and any other site the victim may have reused that password on.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated URLs (the login pages tied to each account)

Why This Matters

Email accounts sit at the center of password recovery for almost every other online service. A working Hotmail login lets an attacker reset passwords on banking, shopping, and social media accounts linked to that inbox. Anyone in this list faces a real risk of account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud that can spread far beyond the original email account.

How Combo Testing Works

Criminals who build lists like this run large batches of stolen or guessed credentials through automated "combo checker" tools that test each pair against a target site and record which ones successfully log in. The surviving, working combinations, exactly what "HQ" and "test" refer to here, are then compiled into a smaller, higher-value list and sold or shared under the creator's handle, in this case pandacracker.
