HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log collection targeting Peru, distributed via Telegram in April 2023 under the PE-PERU-260PCS HEAVENLOGSCLOUD label. A threat actor uploaded the dataset containning 3,999 records harvested directly from compromised Peruvian endpoints by information-stealing malware. Each record captures the email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs of services the victim was actively using at the time of infection, giving attackers an immediate roadmap to account takeover across banking platforms, e-commerce sites, and goverment portals.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs from Peruvian endpoints are particularly valuable to financially motivated threat actors because they capture credentials in ready-to-use plaintext form. There is no decryption required and no cracking involved. The accompanying URLs tell attackers exactly which platforms each victim uses, allowing them to prioritize high-value targets such as banking apps, payment processors, and corporate logins. Identity theft and unauthorized financial transactions can begin within hours of a log collection appearing on Telegram.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (active sites and services on infected Peruvian devices)

Why This Matters

When 3,999 sets of credentials are released on Telegram, automated bots begin testing them within minutes. Successfull logins lead to account takeover, unauthorized transfers, and long-term access to email inboxes that can be used to reset passwords across dozens of linked services. For victims in Peru, the consequences extend to national identity systems, government digital services, and financial accounts. Once an attacker controls your email, every account tied to it is at risk.

How Stealer Logs Work

Information-stealing malware reaches devices through phishing messages, pirated software packages, and malicious browser extensions. Once installed on a Peruvian endpoint, the stealer silently extracts saved passwords from all major browsers, captures active session cookies that allow attackers to bypass two-factor authentication, and records visited URL history. The harvested data is compressed into a structured log file and transmitted to the attacker's server. Threat actors then sort these logs by country, bundle them into collections like PE-PERU-260PCS, and post them to Telegram channels where they are freely downloaded by thousands of cybercriminals within days of publication.
