HEROIC analysts identified the Qhimm Forums breach when 19,099 user records from this Final Fantasy game modding community appeared across breach databases in July 2021. The exposed data is beleive to have originated from a database dump, and includes email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, gender, birthdays, and MD5 salted password hashes, a combination that provides attackers with detailed personal and technical profile data on each affected user.

Why MD5-Hashed Passwords From Qhimm Forums Are Still Crackable

MD5 is a weak hashing algorithm that is highly accessable to cracking using modern GPU-powered dictionary attacks and rainbow table lookups.
