In April 2023, a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log file labeled Reimann Cloud 20-04, exposing 7,153 records harvested from infected devices across the United States. Each record contained an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the site where those credentials were actively used at the time of compromise. The upload attracted little public attention, but the data remained accessable to anyone who knew where to look on Telegram. HEROIC analysts confirmed and indexed the dataset across our 400 billion+ record breach database.

Why This Is Dangerous

The Reimann Cloud 20-04 dump does not require any technical skill to exploit. Attackers who recieve this file have a complete login kit: email address, plaintext password, and the specific URL where that password was used. Credential stuffing software can begin cycling these pairs against banking portals, email providers, and corporate logins within minutes. Because the passwords are plaintext and the target URLs are included, there is no guesswork involved. Every record in this file is an immediately usable attack vector.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (specific sites and services victims were logged into when infected)

Why This Matters

Data from a 2023 stealer log does not expire. If the affected users never changed their passwords, those credentials remain valid and actionable today. Attackers test stolen email and password pairs against dozens of platforms simultaneously -- banking sites, social media, corporate portals, email providers. One stolen credential can trigger a chain reaction: account takeover leads to identity theft, which leads to financial fraud. Most victims never find out until significant damage has already been done. The plaintext format in Reimann Cloud 20-04 means there is no decryption step and no delay between receiving the file and launching attacks.

How the Reimann Cloud 20-04 Stealer Log Was Created

The process behind this log starts with infostealer malware silently infecting a victim's device. The infection typically arrives through a phishing email, a fake software installer, or a drive-by download from a compromised website. Once running, the malware records login credentials as the user enters them, capturing both the password and the URL where it was typed. That data transmits automatically back to the attacker's server without any visable indication to the victim. The attacker compiles the harvested records into a structured log file, applies a name like Reimann Cloud 20-04, and uploads it to Telegram for sale or free distribution -- putting thousands of live credentials into the hands of anyone who downloads it.
