HEROIC analysts identified a credential dump posted to BreachForums on September 12, 2024, listed as "Private Satanic 10M ULP Part 2 Sept #7" and attributed to the threat actor known as Satanic. The release exposed 2,620,731 records containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and homepage URLs. This upload was the seventh entry in a ten-part series released by the same actor, making it part of one of the more systematic credential distribution campaigns observed on underground forums that month. Other parts of this series are also tracked in our breach database, including Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 8, Part 9, and Part 10.

The combination of email addresses and plaintext passwords is the core of what makes stealer log dumps dangerous. An attacker holding this data does not need to crack anything. They can take each email-password pair and run it directly against login pages for banking, email, shopping, and social media platforms. Because many people reuse the same password across multiple services, a single compromised credential can open the door to dozens of accounts. The homepage URLs included in this dump add additional context that can assist attackers in profiling victims or crafting convincing phishing messages.

Why This Matters

Credential stuffing attacks rely on exactly this type of data. Automated tools allow attackers to test thousands of email and password combinations per minute across popular platforms. When a match is found, the attacker gains full account access, often without triggering alerts because the credentials are technically correct. From there, financial fraud, identity theft, and account takeover become straightforward. The plaintext nature of the passwords in this dump means there is zero technical barrier between the data and its misuse.

How Database Breaches Work

Despite the "ULP" (URL-Login-Password) format typical of stealer logs, this breach is classified as a database-type incident, meaning the data was compiled and stored before being distributed. Stealer malware installed on victims' computers silently captures credentials as they are typed or retrieved from browser storage. These records are then aggregated by the operator into structured logs and sold or published on forums like BreachForums. The multi-part release structure seen here is a common tactic: releasing data in segments sustains attention within the forum community and signals the actor's ongoing access to large credential volumes.

Check If You Are Affected

If your email address was included in this dump, your password for one or more sites may already be in the hands of attackers. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches across a database of over 400 billion records to tell you exactly which breaches your email appears in.
