A Telegram Combolist Exposed 1,086 Accounts With Plaintext Passwords

HEROIC analysts identified a combolist file circulated by a Telegram user in August 2025 containing 1,086 records of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and associated URLs. The file, labeled "Ok uploaded by a Telegram User," appears to have been assembled from previously stolen login credentials tied primarily to United States accounts.

Why This Is Dangerous

Because the passwords in this combolist are stored in plaintext, anyone who downloads the file can read every credential immediately, no cracking or decryption required. Combined with the associated URLs, attackers can see exactly which websites or services each email and password pair unlocks, making it simple to test the credentials against the real login pages they were taken from.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated website URLs

Why This Matters

Combolists like this one are the raw material for credential stuffing attacks. Because so many people reuse the same password across multiple accounts, a leaked email and password pair from one site can be used to break into email inboxes, social media profiles, banking apps, and shopping accounts elsewhere. Even a small file of 1,086 records can lead to widespread account takeover and identity theft if any of those credentials are still active.

How This Combolist Leak Happened

A combolist is a simple text file that pairs usernames or email addresses with passwords, often stitched together from multiple smaller breaches, phishing campaigns, or stealer logs. Unlike a hacked database dump that comes from a single company, a combolist can mix credentials from many unrelated sources. Telegram has become a common distribution point for these files because it lets threat actors share and sell them quickly to a wide audience with little oversight.
