The incident exposed 163 user records, including email addresses, phone numbers, first and last names, MD5 password hashes, and IP addresses. While the record count is small, the combination of contact information, IP addresses, and weakly hashed passwords creates meaningful risk for the individuals affected.
Why This Is Dangerous
MD5 is a cryptographic hashing algorithm that was deprecated for password storage more than a decade ago due to its speed and vulnerability to precomputed rainbow table attacks. Attackers can crack MD5 password hashes in seconds to minutes using widely available tools, effectively converting them to plaintext passwords.
