HEROIC's dark web monitoring uncovered a stealer log file called "32kk Shopping Base" on Telegram, uploaded in January 2023. The file contains 32,303 credential records specifically curated from e-commerce and online shopping platforms. Each entry pairs an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the shopping site where the credential was captured. For anyone who shops online, this leak puts more than just an account at risk — it exposes saved payment information, shipping addresses, and purchase histories.

Plaintext Shopping Passwords Are a Direct Financial Threat

Every password in this file is stored without encryption. An attacker can read each one and log into the corresponding shopping account immediately. Unlike social media breaches where the primary risk is privacy, compromised e-commerce accounts often have saved credit cards, stored shipping addresses, and active subscriptions. An attacker with a working password can place fraudulent orders, change delivery addresses, and drain gift card balances — all before the account holder notices.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses — account identifiers for major and niche e-commerce platforms
  • Plaintext Passwords — completely unencrypted, ready for immediate misuse on shopping sites
  • URLs — the specific online stores and checkout pages where each credential was harvested

Why Shopping Credentials Are High-Value Targets for Stuffing Attacks

E-commerce credentials are among the most lucrative for cybercriminals. A single compromised shopping account can yield stored credit card details, reward points, and personal information. Attackers use credential-stuffing tools to test the 32,303 email-password pairs against major retailers like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and dozens of specialty stores. Because shoppers frequently reuse passwords across multiple retail sites, one successful login often leads to purchases on several platforms using the same stolen credentials.

The Infostealer Malware Behind Shopping Credential Theft

The data in this file was harvested by infostealer malware operating silently on infected computers. Programs like RedLine, Vidar, and Raccoon extract saved passwords from browsers, including the credentials people use to check out quickly on their favorite shopping sites. The malware also captures autofill data — which may include credit card numbers and billing addresses — and sends it all to the attacker. Collections labeled "Shopping Base" are filtered specifically for e-commerce credentials, making them attractive to fraudsters looking for financial gain.

Check If Your Credentials Were Exposed

With over 32,000 shopping account credentials in this file, the exposure is substantial. HEROIC's data breach scanner searches across more than 400 billion compromised records to determine if your email or password appears in the Shopping Base leak or any other known breach. If your shopping credentials have been compromised, immediately change your password, remove saved payment methods, and review your recent order history for unauthorized purchases.
