HEROIC analysts uncovered a stealer log dataset titled "Singapore 10 uploaded by a Telegram User" that appeared on February 18, 2023. Like similar logs shared through the same channel, this file was posted by a Telegram user distributing malware-harvested login data, and it contains 19,407 records made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the sites those credentials unlock.

Why This Is Dangerous

These aren't hashed or encrypted passwords pulled from a hacked database. They're plaintext credentials lifted directly from an infected computer, already paired with the email address and website they belong to. That combination means an attacker can log straight into the account without cracking, guessing, or resetting anything. It's a ready-made key, not a lock to pick.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the sites the credentials were used on

Why This Matters

Because each password is stored in plaintext and matched to its exact login page, this data enables immediate account takeover on the services listed in the file. If any of the 19,407 people affected reused these passwords elsewhere, such as on email, banking, or social media accounts, attackers can use credential stuffing to try the same combination across those platforms too, expanding the damage well beyond the original site.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs come from infostealer malware, a type of malicious program that installs itself on a victim's device through sources like pirated software, fake installers, or phishing attachments. Once active, it quietly extracts saved passwords, autofill entries, and active browser sessions, then compiles them into a single log file. That file is often sold or, as with this dataset, shared for free in Telegram channels where anyone can download it and start using the credentials immediately.
