In April 2023, a Telegram user distributed a stealer log labeled "684" containing 10,588 exposed records. HEROIC's DarkHive intelligence system flagged the file as it spread across underground Telegram channels. The log contains full email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs pointing to the specific services where the credentials were harvested by infostealer malware. If your email was in this file, attackers already have your password in plain text and can use it right now.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs in the ten-thousand-record range attract serious attention from automated attack tools. The 10,588 records in Stealer Log 684 give attackers enough volumn to run coordinated credential stuffing campaigns across multiple platforms at the same time. Each plaintext password pair in this file can be tested against Gmail, Amazon, banking apps, and corporate logins with zero delay. Because the passwords are unencrypted, there is no cracking step required. The attacker simply copy-pastes your credentials and logs in.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses: Over 10,000 real email addresses linked to compromised devices
  • Plaintext Passwords: Unencrypted passwords that attackers can use imediately without any additional processing
  • URLs: Direct links to the services and platforms where credentials were originally captured by the malware

Why This Matters

If any of the 10,588 victims in this log reused their passwords across other services, every one of those accounts is now potentially at risk. Attackers don't limit themselves to the platform where the credentials were captured. They run the same email and password pair against social media, streaming services, financial platforms, and corporate systems. One breached account can become a dozen compramised accounts within hours of a stealer log being distributed on Telegram. Password reuse is the single biggest reason one stealer log causes damage far beyond its original scope.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware installs itself silently on victim devices, often disguised as a legitimate software download or bundled inside a cracked application. Once active, it logs keystrokes, scrapes saved browser passwords, and captures session cookies before packaging everything into a structured log file. That file is then uploaded to the attacker's command-and-control server, sorted by geography or data type, and distributed in Telegram channels or sold on dark web marketplaces. Stealer Log 684 followed this exact path before HEROIC's DarkHive system deteced it and indexed the records.
