Monitoring turned up a fresh stealer log on Telegram, uploaded on June 10, 2026, containing 1,189 records tied to ricochet.net. Inside were email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs those credentials were used on, a fairly typical find in the world of infostealer malware dumps, but no less serious for the people involved.

Why This Ricochet.net Discovery Is Dangerous

What makes this find concerning is the format the data was found in. The passwords were not hashed or scrambled in any way, they were in plaintext, meaning anyone who found this log the same way it was discovered here can use it immediately. If any of these 1,189 people reused a ricochet.net password on another site, that account is exposed as well.

What Was Found in the Ricochet.net Data Set

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • The URLs linked to each login

Why This Matters

Data like this rarely stays put once it is discovered. Attackers pull email and password pairs straight from logs like this one and run them through automated credential stuffing tools against other websites. A single match can lead to account takeover, and from there to identity theft or financial fraud, especially when the same password protects an email or banking login.

How This Ricochet.net Data Was Found in a Stealer Log

Logs like this one turn up because infostealer malware infected a device at some point and quietly copied every saved password, cookie, and autofill entry it could reach. That stolen information gets bundled into a file and shared or sold, and Telegram is one of the most common places these dumps get uploaded and discovered. This was not a breach of ricochet.net's own systems. The data was pulled from an infected device that had been used to log into that site.
