HEROIC's threat intelligence team identified a stealer log file dubbed "SunCloudNew 1243 - 5400 LogsFile.part2" circulating on Telegram in June 2026. The file contained 19,606 records, each pairing a website URL with the email address and plaintext password used to log into it. This wasn't a hack of a single company. It was a dump of credentials harvested directly from infected computers.

Understanding Stealer Logs: Why This One Is Dangerous

A stealer log is different from a typical corporate data breach, and that difference matters a lot for how dangerous it is. Instead of one company losing customer data, this file represents dozens or hundreds of different websites, all captured from the same infected device. Because the malware grabbed the password in plaintext, whoever buys or downloads this file can log into those accounts immediately, no cracking or guessing required.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • The URLs of the websites those credentials unlock

Why This Matters

Because each record links an email, a password, and a specific site, attackers can skip straight to logging in. If any of those 19,606 people reused that same password on their email, banking, or work accounts, this single leak can quietly seperate them from several accounts at once. This is exactly how small stealer logs snowball into larger identity theft and financial fraud cases.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer log malware, often called an infostealer, infects a computer through a fake download, cracked software, or a malicious email attachment. Once running, it quietly copies saved passwords, browser cookies, and autofill data straight from the victim's browser and apps. The stolen information is packaged into a "log" and sold or shared in bulk on Telegram channels and dark web forums, often within days of infection.
