HEROIC analysts flagged a stealer log file shared on Telegram in February 2026 under the label "SWITZERLAND CORP-OTHERS-PRO MAILS TEST SAMPLE." The file contained 1,263 records of stolen credentials, including email addresses stored alongside their plaintext passwords and the exact URLs where those credentials were entered. Each record gives an attacker everything needed to log in as the victim.

What Attackers Can Do With This Data Right Now

Because every password in this leak is stored in plaintext, there is no decryption step standing between the stolen data and a successful login. Attackers can immediately test each email and password pair against the URL listed in the record. If the victim still uses the same password, the account is compromised in seconds.

The consequences extend well beyond one hijacked account. Attackers who gain access to a primary email can reset passwords on banking, shopping, and cloud storage services tied to that address. A single plaintext password can cascade into total loss of control over a person's digital identity.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses - The primary identifiers linking victims to their online accounts
  • Plaintext Passwords - Fully visible, unprotected passwords stolen during live browsing sessions
  • URLs - The exact login pages where these credentials were captured by malware

Why Credential Reuse Multiplies the Damage

Research consistently shows that most people reuse passwords across multiple services. Attackers know this, and they exploit it through a technique called credential stuffing. Automated tools take each stolen email and password pair and test it against hundreds of popular websites in rapid succession. Banking portals, social media platforms, email providers, and online retailers are all targeted simultaneously.

Even a single match gives the attacker a foothold. From there, they can harvest personal information, intercept financial transactions, send phishing messages from trusted accounts, or sell verified credentials on underground marketplaces for a premium.

How Stealer Log Infections Happen

Stealer logs are created by infostealer malware that infects personal computers and mobile devices. These infections typically start with a seemingly harmless action: downloading pirated software, clicking a link in a phishing email, or installing a browser extension that turns out to be malicious. The malware then silently captures credentials as the user logs into websites.

The captured data is compiled into structured log files and transmitted to the attacker's servers. From there, the logs are distributed through Telegram channels and dark web forums, often sold in bulk to other criminals who specialize in account takeover and financial fraud.

Check If You Are Affected

This stealer log has been added to HEROIC's threat intelligence database, which now holds over 400 billion records from breaches and credential leaks worldwide. You can run a free scan to check whether your email address appears in this dataset or any other known compromise. Finding out early gives you the chance to change exposed passwords and lock down your accounts before someone else uses them.
