The leaked data included email addresses, usernames, phone numbers, birthdates, first and last names, gender, and MD5 password hashes belonging to users of the tailieu.vn educational resource site.

How MD5 Password Hashes and Personal Data Fuel Credential Stuffing

Unsalted MD5 hashes are among the weakest forms of password storage and can be cracked within seconds using freely accessable rainbow table tools. Attackers who crack these hashes then combine them with the exposed email addresses and usernames to launch credential stuffing campaigns against banking, email, and social media platforms where users beleive their password is still secure.
