Search Your Email: Telegram ‘Logs’ Breach Hit 24,137 Users
A Simple File Named "Logs": 24,137 Records Exposed on Telegram
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file with the plain filename "logs" that was uploaded to a Telegram channel on 26 September 2025. Despite the unremarkable name, the file contained 24,137 records, each one pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the site the login was captured from.
A generic filename like this is common among smaller or less organized Telegram distributors, who often skip branding entirely and simply label a fresh harvest "logs" before uploading it.
Why This Is Dangerous
Plain naming does not mean the contents are any less usable. Each of the 24,137 records already contains a working plaintext password matched to the exact site it unlocks, so an attacker can act on it immediately without cracking or guessing anything.
What Was Exposed in This Logs File
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the associated login pages
Why This Matters
A batch this size is well suited to credential stuffing, where automated scripts test the same email and password combination across banking, email, and shopping platforms. Because password reuse is widespread, a single exposed login from this file can lead to account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud on accounts that have nothing to do with the original infected device.
How Stealer Logs Like This Are Collected
Information-stealing malware quietly runs on an infected computer, copying saved browser passwords and autofill data without the victim ever noticing. The results are compiled into a text file, uploaded to Telegram under a generic name like "logs", and either sold or given away to build a distributor's following.
