HEROIC analysts verified a stealer log upload that occured on October 31, 2025, when an anonymous Telegram user posted a file containing 42,723 compromised records. The dataset, labeled as a default configuration log from port 3128 endpoints, contained email addresses, plaintext passwords, and associated URLs harvested directly from infected machines. This type of upload is a classic indicator of an active information-stealing malware campaign, where attackers collect credentials from real devices and then distribute the results through public or private Telegram channels for further exploitation.

Why This Telegram Stealer Log Gives Attackers Immediate Access

Unlike breached databases where passwords might be hashed, stealer logs contain credentials exactly as they existed on the victim's machine, typically pulled from browser saved passwords or system authentication stores. With 42,723 records of plaintext passwords paired with the URLs of the accounts they belong to, an attacker does not need to guess anything. They know which site each credential goes to and can attempt login immidiately. The scope of damage is not limited to one service; because attackers can see every URL in the log, they can target banking sites, email accounts, and corporate systems all at once from the same dataset.

What Was Exposed in This Telegram Stealer Log

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (the specific sites and services where credentials were used)

Why Stealer Log Leaks Are More Dangerous Than Typical Breaches

Most data breaches expose records from a single company. Stealer logs are different because they aggregate credentials across every site a victim visited on an infected device. Credential stuffing attacks become trivial because the attacker already has a map of which passwords go where. Account takeover across multiple services can happen within hours of the log being posted. Identity theft is compounded when attackers find email account credentials in the log, since email access unlocks password resets for nearly every other service. Financial fraud often follows quickly when banking or payment credentials appear in the dataset. Many victims never recieve any notification because no single company was breached in a conventional sense.

How Stealer Log Malware Works

Information-stealing malware, commonly called a stealer or infostealer, is typically distributed through phishing emails, fake software downloads, malicious ads, or compromised websites. Once installed on a victim's device, it silently scans for saved browser passwords, session cookies, cryptocurrency wallets, and other stored credentials. The stolen data is then sent back to the attacker's server or directly to a Telegram bot, which aggregates and organizes the logs for distribution or sale. The attacker does not need any ongoing access to the victim's machine once the initial harvest is complete. The compromised credentials can then be packaged and sold or shared in bulk, as appeard to happen in this case with the October 2025 upload.

Check If You Are Affected by This Stealer Log Breach

If your device was infected with malware at any point or if you have not recently audited your saved browser passwords, your credentials could be part of this or similar stealer log datasets. HEROIC's free breach scanner at heroic.com checks your email address against more than 400 billion exposed records, including stealer log data. A quick search can tell you whether your information has been compromised and help you prioritize which accounts to secure first.
