HEROIC Found THOR FRESH LOGS Stealer Dump Circulating on Telegram
HEROIC analysts discovered this stealer log circulating on Telegram in March 2023. The file, distributed under the name THOR FRESH LOGS uploaded by a Telegram User, contained 8,177 records exposing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the specific URLs where those credentials were active. This is one of multiple THOR FRESH LOGS releases identified by HEROIC, including THOR FRESH LOGS (Part 2) and THOR FRESH LOGS Telegram Stealer Dump, indicating an ongoing operation by the same Telegram threat actor.
Why This Is Dangerous
This data set hands attackers an operational playbook for account takeover. Each record pairs a working email address and password with the exact login URL where the combination was harvested. An attacker does not need to guess which service a victim uses — the URL is already included. Victims face unauthorized access to email accounts, online banking portals, shopping accounts, and any other services where they reuse the same password.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- Login URLs (the specific sites where credentials were active)
Why This Matters
Plaintext passwords are immediately usable. There is no cracking step required. Attackers routinely feed credential sets like this into automated tools that test them against dozens of popular services simultaneously — a technique called credential stuffing. A single compromised email-password pair can cascade into access to banking, social media, cloud storage, and workplace accounts, especially when the victim reuses passwords across services. Identity theft and financial fraud are direct downstream risks.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is produced by malware silently installed on a victim's device — typically through a malicious download, pirated software, or a phishing link. Once active, the malware monitors browser activity and harvests saved credentials, autofill data, and session cookies in real time. The collected data is packaged into a log file and sent to the attacker's infrastructure. These logs are then sold or freely distributed on Telegram channels and dark web forums, sometimes within hours of collection. Victims rarely know their device was infected until they notice unauthorized account access.
