What Happened

On January 26, 2023, a Telegram user released the base THOR FRESH LOGS archive, the first drop in what became an ongoing stealer log distribution series. The dump contained 2,318 records pulled directly from infected endpoints and was pushed into a channel that regularly traffics in credential archives for downstream actors.

Data Exposed

  • 2,318 email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords saved in victim browsers and apps
  • URLs of portals tied to each compromised credential
  • API host endpoints referenced by the infected devices

Who Is Affected

The 2,318 victims are individual consumers and employees whose personal machines were infected by the info-stealer feeding this series. Because this is the base THOR FRESH LOGS volume rather than a later sub-variant, the records cover a different slice of victims than follow-on drops such as 2_2.

Why It Matters

Older plaintext credentials stay valuable as long as users keep reusing passwords. Attackers run archives like THOR FRESH LOGS through automated credential-stuffing queues against banks, webmail, and corporate SSO portals even years after the initial compromise. The age of this leak does not reduce its risk.

How to Protect Yourself

  1. Change any password that has not been updated since early 2023, especially on email and banking accounts.
  2. Run a trusted anti-malware scan to confirm no stealer remains on your device.
  3. Adopt a password manager and unique credentials for every site.
  4. Enable multi-factor authentication on every critical account.
  5. Sign up for dark web monitoring to catch future exposures the moment they appear.
