In April 2023, a threat actor using Telegram uploaded a stealer log file tied to Tiny Cloud, exposing 2,457 records that included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and endpoint URLs. Stealer logs of this type are generated by infostealer malware that silently collects credential data from infected machines before the victim is even aware of the intrusion. The Tiny Cloud dump was verified and catalogued in HEROIC's dark web breach database in April 2026.

Why This Is Dangerous

The danger of this breach lies in what was stolen: plaintext passwords. Unlike encrypted or hashed credentials that require additonal cracking effort, plaintext passwords are usable the moment they are downloaded. Attackers can immediatley attempt to log in to the associated email accounts and any other services where the same password is reused. The inclusion of endpoint URLs in the dump also reveals which specific services and platforms victims were accessing, giving attackers a precise roadmap for account takeover attempts.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (endpoint and API host data)

Why This Matters

Even a breach of 2,457 records carries serious consequences for the individuals affected. When plaintext credentials are circulating on dark web Telegram channels, they are typically bought, sold, and reused across credential stuffing attacks targeting dozens of platforms simultaneously. Victims often do not discover the exposure untill they find an unauthorized transaction, a locked account, or a security alert -- sometimes years after the initial breach. The April 2023 leak date means this data has had years to propagate across criminal networks.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware is typically delivered through phishing campaigns, fake software downloads, or malicious browser extensions. Once active on a device, the malware extracts saved credentials from browsers, captures keystrokes, and collects session tokens. All of this harvested data is bundled into a log file and uploaded to Telegram channels or dark web forums where buyers can download and weaponize the credentials. The Tiny Cloud log represents a snapshot of 2,457 real users whose devices were compromised and whose login data was captured in this way.
