HEROIC researchers found 2,903 records on February 20, 2023, inside a stealer log titled TOR_LOG UNITED STATES, uploaded to a public Telegram channel. The file pairs United States user emails with plaintext passwords and the exact login URLs or API host endpoints they were captured from.

Why This Stealer Log Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are the raw output of infostealer malware running on a victim's device. Everything the browser remembered, saved passwords, active sessions, and the sites visited, gets bundled into a single file and pushed to a Telegram drop channel.

Because this TOR_LOG UNITED STATES log stores passwords in plaintext, attackers do not need to crack a hash. They can copy a row and try it immediately against email, banking, and workplace logins.

What Was Exposed in TOR_LOG UNITED STATES

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Login URLs and API host endpoints
  • Associated United States endpoint device data

Why This Matters

The combination of a working email, a working password, and the exact URL the credential opens is a full account takeover kit. Criminals replay these rows against banks, email providers, crypto exchanges, and corporate SSO pages.

When a password is reused elsewhere, one compromised endpoint can cascade into identity theft, drained accounts, and credential stuffing attacks that lock legitimate users out of their own services.

How a Stealer Log Like TOR_LOG UNITED STATES Works

A victim installs a cracked app, clicks a malicious ad, or opens a phishing attachment. The stealer silently copies browser password stores, cookies, and autofill data, then uploads them to the attacker.

Those files are sorted into regional packs, in this case tagged UNITED STATES, and dropped into Telegram channels where anyone can download them and run credential stuffing at scale.
