HEROIC analysts uncovered a stealer log file called Trident_Cloud_2 that had been published to Telegram in February 2026 by an anonymous threat actor. The upload exposed 747 records harvested from compromised endpoints in the United States, with each record containing an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the site where the credentials were used. The discovery confirmed an active infostealer campaign targeting cloud service users, with stolen data circulating openly in criminal Telegram channels.

Why This Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords require no decryption and are ready to use the moment an attacker downloads the file. The included URLs reveal exactly which cloud platforms, email services, or corporate portals each victim was accessing, giving attackers a precise map for targeted intrusion. Threat actors routinely automate credential testing across hundreds of services within hours of obtaining a stealer log, meaning victims have very little time to react once a log is posted publically.

Why This Matters

A single set of stolen credentials can unlock a cascade of downstream compromises. Credential stuffing attacks probe the same email and password pair against banking apps, corporate VPNs, e-commerce accounts, and social media platforms simultaneously. Once an attacker controls an email inbox, they can reset passwords on every linked service, escalating a single breach into full-scale identity theft and financial fraud. The Trident_Cloud_2 log is particularly concerning because it appears to target cloud environments, where one compromised account can expose an entire organizations data.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Infostealer malware infects a victims device through phishing links, trojanized software, or malicous browser extensions. Once installed, it quietly extracts saved passwords, session tokens, and browser history before the user notices anything wrong. The harvested data is bundled into a structured log file and transmitted to the attackers command-and-control server. The logs are then monetized by selling them in bulk on dark web markets or distributing them freely on Telegram to build reputation within criminal communities. The Trident_Cloud_2 upload follows this well-established pattern, with the Telegram distribution method allowing the data to spread rapidly across multiple threat actor groups.
