Trident_Cloud Leak Gave Hackers Everything to Drain Accounts
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to a public Telegram channel on January 2, 2025, tied to a source labeled "Trident_Cloud." The file contained 5,176 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the account that password opens, harvested directly from malware-infected devices.
Why This Is Dangerous
This file hands an attacker everything needed to walk straight into an account: the email that identifies it, the password that unlocks it, and the exact web address where it lives. There is no puzzle to solve, no encryption to defeat, just a ready-made key for every login listed.
What Was Exposed in the Trident_Cloud Leak
- Email addresses tied to infected devices
- Plaintext passwords with no encryption applied
- URLs identifying the exact login page each credential unlocks
Why This Matters
With everything needed already in one file, an attacker can log into an account, change the recovery email, and lock the real owner out before they even notice. If any of these 5,176 people reused a password on their bank or email, that same access can quickly turn into financial fraud or identity theft.
How the Trident_Cloud Stealer Log Was Likely Built
Stealer logs like this one come from infostealer malware that infects a device through a cracked download, a fake update, or a malicious attachment. Once active, it copies saved browser passwords, autofill data, and live sessions into a text file and sends it back to the attacker, who then packages and uploads files like this one to Telegram channels for sale or free distribution.
