HEROIC analysts identified the Trident_Cloud stealer log on May 21, 2024, shortly after it was uploaded to a public Telegram channel. The file contained 6,893 records collected from compromised endpoints, each including an email address, a plaintext password, and an associated API host URL. More than a year has passed since this data first appeared online, and the credentials it contains have been freely available to anyone who found the channel during that time.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer log credentials do not expire. An attacker who downloaded the Trident_Cloud log in May 2024 could still be using those passwords today, especially against people who have not changed them. The API host URLs in the dump identify specific cloud services and systems, meaning attackers know exactly where to apply each stolen credential. The longer a breach goes undetected, the more damage an attacker can cause with the compromised account access.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • API Host URLs

Why This Matters

Every day that stolen credentials stay in circulation is another day someone can use them for credential stuffing, account takeover, or identity theft. The Trident_Cloud dump gave attackers plaintext passwords tied to specific email addresses and cloud service URLs, removing every technicle barrier between them and unauthorized access. If any of the exposed accounts are connected to financial services, work systems, or email, the downstream consequences can include unauthorized transctions, data theft, and locked-out accounts. Breaches like this one also get incorporated into larger combo lists that circulate for years.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

A stealer log breach happens when infostealer malware infects a device and silently copies every saved credential it can find. The malware typically arrives through a fake software installer, a phishing email, or a malicious website. Once running, it extracts saved passwords from browsers and applications, captures session cookies, and logs the URLs the user accesses. Everything gets packaged into a log file and transmitted to the attacker. That log is then sold, traded, or posted publicly on platforms like Telegram, where other criminals can download and use the stolen informaton freely.
