In October 2025, HEROIC analysts detected a large stealer log file circulating in private Telegram channels. The file, known as "url_log 73," was uploaded by an anonymous Telegram user and contained 925,859 records. Each entry included an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the targeted service, giving attackers a ready-made list of active accounts to comprimise across hundreds of platforms.

Why the url_log 73 Leak Means Someone Could Already Be in Your Accounts

When credentials are stolen and shared in plaintext, there is nothing standing between an attacker and your account. The URL column in this file is particularly alarming: it tells the attacker which website the password belongs to. That means no guesswork is required. The attacker goes directly to the site, types in the email and password, and gets in. With nearly one million records in a single file, automated tools can process this data and attempt logins across all affected accounts in a matter of hours.

What the url_log 73 File Exposed

  • Email addresses used as login identifiers
  • Plaintext passwords captured at the time of infection
  • URLs identifying the exact websites and services that were targeted

Why 925,859 Stolen Logins Create a Widespread Account Takeover Risk

At nearly one million records, this file is large enough to fuel large-scale credential stuffing campaigns. Attackers use automated software to test each email and password combination against dozens of popular sites simultaneously. Because many people reuse the same password across multiple services, a single stolen login can unlock email, banking, e-commerce, and streaming accounts all at once.

Victims often don't realize an account takeover has occured until they notice unauthorized charges, strange login alerts, or messages sent from their account that they never wrote. By then, the attacker may have already changed the recovery email and locked the legitimate owner out entirely.

How the url_log 73 Stealer Log Was Created

Stealer log files like url_log 73 are produced by infostealer malware. This type of software infects a device without the user's knowledge, often through phishing emails, pirated software, or malicious browser extensions. Once active, it harvests saved passwords from web browsers, email applications, and other local software.

The malware then organizes the stolen data into structured log files and transmits them to the attacker's server. Those files are then sold or distributed freely in private Telegram groups. A single infostealer campaign can generate millions of records, and the url_log 73 file represents just one batch from what is definately a much larger operation.
