Vuln_cPanels Leak: What HEROIC Analysts Found

On July 4, 2026, HEROIC analysts found a combolist titled "Vuln_cPanels" uploaded to Telegram. The file contains 977 records combining email addresses with plaintext passwords and the URLs tied to each login, pointing to vulnerable cPanel hosting accounts.

Why This Hosting Credential Leak Is Dangerous

cPanel accounts control the back end of websites, email hosting, and server files. Because the passwords in this leak are stored in plaintext and each record includes a URL, an attacker can attempt to log directly into the hosting control panel tied to that email and password, potentially gaining access to an entire website, its files, and any connected email accounts, without needing to crack a single password.

What's Inside the Vuln_cPanels File

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs linked to each account

Why 977 Exposed Hosting Logins Matter

A compromised hosting account can be used to plant malicious code, redirect traffic, or harvest visitor data, and because many people reuse passwords across their hosting, email, and personal accounts, this single leak can open the door to credential stuffing, account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud well beyond the original website.

How a Combolist Like Vuln_cPanels Gets Built

Combolists are compiled by pulling credentials from previous breaches, phishing pages, and malware logs, then organizing them into simple email:password lists tied to specific services, in this case, cPanel logins. These files are then shared freely or sold in Telegram channels, where anyone can download them and start testing accounts with no technical skill required.

Check If Your Login Was Exposed

If you manage a website or hosting account, it's worth checking whether your credentials appear in this leak. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches more than 400 billion leaked records, so you can quickly see if your email and password showed up in the Vuln_cPanels combolist and change your credentials before an attacker gets there first.
