Analysts Find Vuln_Virtualmin Combolist Exposing 185 Logins
Analysts Spot a Combolist Tied to Vulnerable Virtualmin Panels
HEROIC analysts identified a combolist labeled "Vuln_Virtualmin," uploaded by a Telegram user on 27 June 2026. The file contains 185 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords, along with the URLs each credential pair was tied to. While smaller than many listings, the name itself points to Virtualmin, a widely used web hosting control panel, suggesting these logins were pulled from vulnerable installations.
Why This Is Dangerous
Because the passwords are stored in plaintext and paired with URLs, an attacker can log directly into an affected Virtualmin panel without cracking anything first. A hosting control panel often manages entire websites, email accounts, and databases, so a single compromised login can hand over control of far more than one account.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs tied to each credential pair
Why This Matters
Even a small list of 185 records can carry outsized risk when the accounts involved control server infrastructure. Reused passwords make it easy for attackers to try these credentials against other services in a credential stuffing attempt, and gaining access to a control panel can open the door to further account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud tied to whatever systems the panel manages.
How Combolists Work
A combolist bundles email and password pairs into a single file, often labeled to describe the target, as this one was tagged "Vuln_Virtualmin" to flag vulnerable hosting panels. Once compiled, these lists are shared or sold on platforms like Telegram, where buyers can quickly test each pair against the matching login page to see which credentials still work.
