In early July 2026, HEROIC analysts found a combolist labeled 'Vuln_Virtualmin' uploaded to a Telegram channel by an individual user. The file contains 214 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords and login URLs, apparently gathered from accounts tied to Virtualmin, a widely used web hosting control panel. Why This Is Dangerous: If you administer a server through Virtualmin, credentials like these can hand an attacker direct access to your hosting environment, not just a single account. From there, an attacker could read email, modify websites, or use the server to launch further attacks, all without needing to break any encryption since the passwords are stored in plaintext. What Was Exposed: email addresses; plaintext passwords; associated login URLs. Why This Matters: Server and admin panel credentials carry more weight than typical account logins because they often control everything behind them, other accounts, other websites, other data. If you reused your Virtualmin password anywhere else, or if this is still your current password, an attacker already has what they need to log in and start causing damage. How Combolists Work: A combolist bundles email-and-password pairs harvested from breaches, misconfigured systems, or malware infections into a single file for easy distribution. Lists tagged with a specific platform name, like Virtualmin here, usually mean the uploader specifically targeted or scanned for that type of system, making the credentials more likely to still be active. Check If You Are Affected: If you manage any server or hosting panel, it's worth checking now rather than later. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches more than 400 billion leaked records for your email address, so you can find out quickly and change any exposed password before someone else uses it.
