What Is a Stealer Log? Wako_Cloud_2 Leaks 4,536 Records
In late June 2026, HEROIC analysts found a second Wako_Cloud_2 stealer log file, this one dated June 26 and containing 4,536 records. Like its earlier counterpart, the file was uploaded to a Telegram channel and includes email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the accounts those credentials belong to.
What Is a Stealer Log, Exactly
A stealer log is not a traditional company data breach. Instead of hackers breaking into a corporate database, this type of leak comes from malware installed directly on a victim's own computer. The malware, often called an infostealer, quietly copies saved passwords, browser cookies, and autofill information, then sends everything back to whoever controls it.
That collected data is compiled into a text file, or "log," and shared or sold on criminal forums and Telegram channels. Wako_Cloud_2 is exactly this kind of file, and its 4,536 records represent real accounts belonging to real people.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the associated login pages
Why This Matters
Because stealer logs contain working passwords rather than encrypted hashes, attackers can use them right away. That makes credential stuffing attacks especially effective, since criminals can plug the same email and password into dozens of sites hoping the victim resued it.
Any account tied to a reused password becomes a target for takeover, and from there, identity theft or financial fraud can follow quickly.
How This Type of Breach Happens
Most infostealer infections start with something small: a cracked software download, a fake browser update, or a malicious email attachment. Once installed, the malware runs quietly in the background, harvesting credentials without the victim noticing anything unusual.
Within days, or sometimes hours, the stolen data is packaged into a log and distributed. This fast turnaround is part of what makes stealer logs so different from older, slower moving data breaches.
