In June 2026, a threat actor uploaded a stealer log file to a Telegram channel containing 10,872 stolen credential records tied to Yahoo.de accounts. This is not a breach of Yahoo's own servers. The data was harvested from malware-infected devices whose browsers had saved login information, then packaged and dumped for anyone on that Telegram channel to download. The exposed records include email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs where each set of credentials was used.

Why This Yahoo.de Stealer Log Is Dangerous

What makes this leak especially risky is that the passwords were captured in plaintext. There is no hashing or scrambling standing between a criminal and your actual login credentials. Anyone who gets hold of this file can read your password exactly as you typed it, then try it against your email, banking, and social accounts without any extra effort.

What Was Exposed in the Telegram Upload

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs showing which sites or services each login belongs to

Why This Matters to You

A stolen email and password pair is rarely used just once. Criminals feed lists like this one into automated tools that test the same combination across dozens of other websites, a technique known as credential stuffing. If you reused your Yahoo.de password anywhere else, an attacker could take over those accounts too. From there, account takeover can escalate quickly into identity theft or direct financial fraud, especially if the compromised login also unlocks a banking app, a shopping account, or a password reset email.

How Stealer Log Leaks Like This One Work

Stealer malware infects a device, often through a pirated download, a malicious email attachment, or a fake software update. Once installed, it quietly copies saved usernames, passwords, and browsing history straight out of the victim's web browser. That stolen data is bundled into a "log" and sold or given away in criminal Telegram channels and marketplaces, exactly like the one behind this incident. The victim usually has no idea their credentials are circulating until the damage is already done.
