HEROIC analysts were tracking Telegram-based stealer log activity on May 21, 2025, when a third batch from the BabaCloudLogs operator surfaced on a public channel. Labeled "BabaCloudLogs 550 Cloud Logs 21.05.2025 3," this upload arrived just hours after two earlier BabaCloudLogs releases from the same day, revealing a coordinated campaign to flood Telegram with freshly harvested cloud credentials. This third batch was the largest of the three, containing 37,347 records with email addresses, plaintext passwords, and cloud service URLs.

Why This Is Dangerous

Three batches of cloud credentials published to Telegram in a single day points to an active, ongoing infostealer operation. Attackers who collected this third batch of 37,000-plus plaintext passwords did not need to do any further work. The credentials were ready to use immediately across cloud dashboards, business email platforms, and any other service where victims reused their passwords. The speed of publication means victims had no warning before their credentials were already in circulation among malicious actors.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (cloud service endpoints and API hosts)

Why This Matters

When over 37,000 plaintext credentials reach a public Telegram channel, the clock starts ticking for every person in that list. Credential stuffing bots begin testing those logins within minutes. Succesful logins lead to account takeover, unauthorized data access, and in many cases identity theft and financial fraud. For business users whose cloud work accounts were captured, the risk extends beyond personal harm. An attacker inside a corporate cloud environment can steal sensitive files, send fraudulent communications, and move lateraly through connected systems. Every day that a compromised password stays unchanged is another day an attacker could be exploiting it quietly in the background.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware infects a device, then operates silently in the background, harvesting every credential the user types or has stored. It targets browser-saved passwords, cloud service logins, API keys, and session cookies. The malware compresses this data into a log file and transmits it to the attacker's server. In the BabaCloudLogs case, the operator published multiple batches to Telegram over consecutive days in May 2025, suggesting a deliberate distribution stratergy rather than a one-off leak. The public posting on Telegram eliminates any barrier to access, meaning thousands of individuals could download and weaponize these credentials simultaneously. Infostealers spread most commonly through phishing emails, fake software cracks, and malicious browser extensions.
